1. Which would you prefer? doing exercise everyday or only when you are free?
I would prefer to exercise only when I am free. I am busy most of the time so I can only exercise on the days that I have a little bit of free time. I am a student, so right now my focus is on academic achievement and my volunteer work in the community. My grandparents exercise almost every day and my parents do it often too, but I don't think I need it in such a young age. Volunteering at the animal shelter and doing house chores keep me moving. Also, I remember some scientists argued that intense exercise once a while is actually more beneficial for you than constant mild exercise. So overall, I would choose to work out when I have free time instead of everyday.
2. Do you agree or disagree that one of the best ways to learn about a country is to watch its TV shows?
I personally would not agree with this statement for the following reasons.
Firstly, I would choose to travel to know a country and I think it’s a better choice than watching the local programs. I prefer to talk to the local people to know their daily lives and customs. It’s a more efficient and natural way to know a place. While when you are watching a TV program, sometimes it’s hard to get sense in the program when the context and the language are unfamiliar to you. With the gesture and the picture you see in front of me, I can incorporate all the elements into my understanding towards the place.
3. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Spending time with family is more important than working. Please give your opinion.
I agree with the statement. We always keep study and work in mind because they help us go places, get rewards. However, family is something we should never choose to neglect. I have a second cousin who works overseas now. He’s a CEO for a big company and has always been a success. All the time he spent in boarding schools and college in UK deprived him of the time to spend with family. His parents love him a lot of course, but when we had family gatherings and talked about their son, the old couple always sighed because they didn’t have much to talk to their boy and ditto my second cousin. In all I think it’s a sad story. I guess balancing the time between family and work/study is after all crucial for every person.
