1.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? When you have been friends with someone for a long time, it is important to continue your friendship with that person even if he or she does something you do not like.
According to Emerson, the glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship. It is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship. It is unavoidable that friends do something we dislike or even make mistakes. At this moment, a true friend will choose to maintain the friendship and address the discrepancy appropriately.
Admittedly, friends' misbehaviors and mistakes may arouse our resentment or even generate negative impacts on our life. Inevitably, people change constantly. Friends will gradually have diverse habits, different opinions, and divergent attitudes towards the world. Consequently, when some of their behaviors seem neither understandable nor acceptable, to continue the relationship turns out to be unbearable. A simple way to avoid unhappiness with them is to keep distance, which is mutually beneficial.
However, it is tolerance and trust that make it possible for friendship to keep in the long run. To begin with, for friends we have been with for a long period, what we should cherish most is mutual trust. As time flies, when we have developed strong emotional ties with friends, it is irresponsible to end the relationship simply because of friends' some behaviors or habits that we dislike. There is no person that is perfect. Even though friends have done something unpleasant to us, it does not mean that the bonds and mutual trust will disappear. When we are in trouble, it is those trustworthy friends that can help us get through the hard time. For example, it is disappointing to find that a childhood friend begins to smoking. Though we hate second hand smoking that may hurt our health, it is highly likely he is the one who we can trust and turn to for favor, such as borrowing money.
Secondly, true friends need to be tolerant and sincere. It is our responsibility to help friends to get rid of undesirable habits and get back on the track. Friends are supposed to not only enjoy happy time together and celebrate achievement, but also to help each other improve and correct mistakes. The mutual tolerance and sincerity enable us to refine ourselves, so as to have moral support to our individuality and approach our advanced years with optimism. For instance, we ought to assume the duty to help friends who develop addiction to video games, alcohol, or smoking to have healthy lifestyle, encourage friends who become narrow minded to open their heart, persuade friends who attempt to adopt unfavorable methods to get promotion or win a competition to play fair. In turn, friends' tolerance and sincerity will also help us someday when we make errors.
To sum up, although friends may have done something we do not like, it is important for us to maintain the long term relationship by building mutual trust and showing tolerance.
2.Some people think that we should keep away from others to improve our relationship, because being away from people reminds us of how important they are. Others think we should always stay with others to have good relationship because we can communicate with them more often. What do you think?
The question is whether people should be far away from each other for improving their relationship or not. Everyone with regard to his private view point can maintain a specific direction toward this statement. However, I am inclined to affirm that being far away will not solve any problem, even worse it can create some bigger troubles and then people will not be able to control them. I feel this way for some reasons, which I will explore them in following essay to empower my vantage point.
To begin with, two persons who are in a relationship know all aspects and corners of their friendship. Having awareness about problems and discerning them is the most crucial solution in these types of cases. It goes without saying that when two individuals have been friend for a long time, they have adapted to their behavior. Consequently, relying on each other for solving their troubles can lead them to remove all negative points from their friendship. Needless to say the collaboration of two minds is more effective than one.
The second reason for my arguments lies in the fact that nowadays around humans are unreliable and unpredictable. Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority of people observe themselves as a judge and they attempt to tender the opinions which are incorrect. One should not forget that when people are far away from each other, other human beings can impinge on them and their relationship. Their biased and unfair comments cause a relationship to approach to its end. It is often said that almost of friendships have been finished due to interference of strange people.
Moreover, the best way for optimizing a relationship is that two sides of a relationship make efforts to revive their memories such as going to the restaurant that they had meet each other for first time there or giving some favorite gifts and so on.
To sum up, this conclusion could be drawn that I strongly refute being far away in a relationship because the cold winds start blowing among two persons. Hence, they should talk and consult each other to ease all of pains and problems.
