Do you like (to learn about) history?
Yes, I think history is quite an interesting subject to learn about, for it tells us so many things in the past which are still of vital importance to us now.
What historical event do you find most interesting in your country?
Personally, I find the Battle of Red Cliffs happened in the early period of Three Kingdoms to be quite interesting. The battle has been called the largest naval battle in history in terms of numbers involved. It is also a typical battle in Chinese history renowned for the fewer and weaker to have defeated the more and stronger.
What historical event do you think is important in your country?
Personally, I find The Second Sino-Japanese War a very important historical even in China. It was a military conflict fought primarily between the Republic of China and the Empire of Japan. After winning the battle, China was recognized as one of the Big Four of the Allies during the war and became one of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.
Do you think history is important?
Yes, like our native language, history forms a cultural identity and keeps a unique record of our country. By the way, we can also learn from the past experiences to better deal with our problems now.
Do you like to watch TV programs about history?
Yes, I enjoy watching documentaries about history on TV, through which I get to see lots of vividly recorded video materials that can’t be seen in printed textbooks. I watch them a lot during my spare time.
How do you learn about history?
Well, as a high school student, I learn about history mostly through my textbook. Besides, I also read historical novels and watch documentaries about history in my spare time to try to learn more about it.
