Describe a journey you would like to go on by car, motorbike or bike.
You should say:
where you would like to go;
how you would like to go there;
who you would like to go with;
and explain why you would like to go there by car, motorbike or bike.
Well, I would like to go Las Vegas. The city is around 125 kilometres away from my town, Bullhead City in Arizona. So if I could go there, I think by car is a second-to-none choice. Las Vega is mostly famous for the colourful nightlife. This is a resort town located in the Mojave Desert in Nevada. The town has some specialties and during the night times, it looks best. The entire city is well decorated and illuminated. The most amazing feature of the city is the musical fountain. It is synchronised with music. Besides, the Strip is also another attractive issue at the town. The replicas like Eiffel Tower; Egyptian Pyramids etc. are also some adorable things here.
I am a student at Everest College and having an undergrad course in economics. I have a group of six members in the college. We love to be together always like having a group study, moving for a theatre, joining at any ceremony and more. Sometimes we make some short trips in some less distant areas. Now we are planning to have a trip in Las Vegas. Though I went there for several times with my dad to meet my uncle who owns a small pub there, I did not have the chance to move on my own. Dad always was with me lest I get into any bar or pub and have a drink. In fact, my parents are conservative in some aspects.
I would like to go there by car because it is a long journey. Las Vegas is around 125 kilometres away from my home. Moving such a distance alone is not preferable for me. Go there with your good friends will be much better. If I become a victim of an accident, there is none to look after me on the highway to Vegas. Even there are some risks to move alone in the city until you are matured enough to protect yourself from any sudden invasion. Considering all the issues, I have decided to make the trip with my friends. Moreover, it would be great fun for us. A wonderful sightseeing journey! All of us have visited the town but we lack the experience to stay at night there. So, I am going there on the car that will be driven by David.
Describe a time you received good service at a restaurant or a shop.
You should say:
what goods or services you bought;
who you were with when you were served;
why you went there;
and explain why you think their service was good.
I enjoyed an amazing service when I went to a hot-pot restaurant. It belongs to a famous chain of restaurants. I remembered that it happened on one day two years ago. At that time, I suffered a failure in a relationship. I messed around for two whole days at home. In the evening on that day, I walked into a nearby shopping plaza. I had no appetite for any so-called normal dishes and I walked into the hot-pot restaurant. The waitress welcomed me warmly and didn’t show any surprise for a single lady who would like to have a hot-pot feast. I think she may see through that something bad happened on me from my look. She suggested a wonderful set meal for me and offered some fresh fruits for me. I felt a little bit flattered and began to say a lot of “thank you” back. When I was having the meal, she put a big doll to the opposite of my seat and said: “Enjoying your meal. She is your companion. ” I couldn’t help bursting out laugher. When I checked out, she even gave me a discount and said slowly: “Be happy. Nothing is a big deal but you are. ”
I have to admit that I wanted to cry out for a moment. I felt that I was highly respected, cared and loved by a stranger. She didn’t ask anything but she knew much more than I thought. Actually, this was the best service I experienced. She showed professional service attitude to an “abnormal” customer since usually people who go to hot-pot restaurants are in groups, or with friends. She didn’t show any surprised expression to me. Above that, she offered super considerate and nice service all the time. She even tried her best to comfort me in the end, giving me a discount or saying some encouraging words. She did more than a standard and qualified service requires. After leaving the restaurant, I recognized that I was back to the track of normal state suddenly. I will appreciate the experience forever.
Describe an invention that has changed the world.
You should say:
what it is;
how it’s changed our life;
how popular it is among different age groups;
and explain how you feel about it.
I would like to pick the 'Light Bulb' as one such invention that has very positively influenced the human race.
This single invention of science has uplifted the human race towards prosperity and the modern world. Think about the world without any lights in the dark and we would have been no different than living in a cave. The great scientist Thomas Edison is credited to invent the light bulb and till then many improvements have been done to it.
The bulb is the main source of illumination and light at night time when the Sun is hiding at the opposite side of the world. We are so habituated with the electricity and light bulbs that we might wonder if it is a life-changing invention or not.
But think about living your life for few days without the bulbs and then you would realise the true importance of this single invention. Some may argue that fuel powered lighting system could have been alternative to it, but the reality is that that would have been too expensive and could not have been an easy source for lighting the houses,
Think about the other living beings other than human; they mostly get back to their living place in the evening and except some nocturnal animals and birds, most of them stay at their living place till the morning.
They rarely do anything at night and that's because they are afraid of the dark and have no vision to see at night. As the human, we could have some lighting system if we did not know how to illuminate the light bulb but that would not have been so widespread without the invention of the light bulb. Scientific inventions are interrelated and one invention or theory inspired and accelerates the invention of other important inventions.
The Light bulb is one such invention that has inspired the invention and research of other inventions. This is the single invention that has made us free from being active only at day time when the sun is there.
