Describe one of your grandparent’s jobs
You should say:
What it was
How long he or she had this job
Is it the only job they did
How he or she got the job
And explain whether you would like to have the same job
I’d like to talk about my grandfather, a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine. Owning an individual clinic, he makes his own money even at the moment. And attributed to(由于) his remarkable skills and amicability, he is fairly(相当地，等于 very) respectable in the neighborhood(在那块地方，那块区域 (一般指某个城市或者村里的某块社区)). I learnt it from my dad that grandpa got the opportunity to go to a college with the support of his family. After graduation, hefirst worked in a hospital. Then with his skills sharpened(提高技能) as well as experience broadened(丰富经验), he took out a loan(贷款) and opened his own clinic, quite a small one in the first place. I remember that I hated that tiny clinic when I was a child, since the whole room was dim and full of an unpleasant smell –you know, the smell of traditional medicine. Later, my grandpa expanded(扩大) the little clinic a bit with the profits he made and the financial support(经济支持) offered by my parents. With the storefront enlarged(扩大店面), you could really see more patients coming in for diagnoses. It was probably the smell of the clinic that really disgusted me when I was little, when I swore that being adoctor would be my last consideration for a job(做什么也不会做医生). But my major does not relateto medicine anyway, so probably I’ll do something else in the future.
