  范文:

1.How are pets now different from those in the past?

In the past, pets were loved by their owners, just as they are today. They were fed, bathed, taken to the vet when they were sick and occasionally taken along on car rides or on vacations. The differences today are in how enormous the pet industry has become and how well the pets are treated. The type of food, treats and supplements have skyrocketed. Many foods for dogs are even better than foods for human consumption. Today, everything from rain coats, life vests, skirts, hoodies and even shoes are made for dogs and cats. Nearly none of these existed 50 years ago.

2.What problems will keep pets bring?

One drawback of getting a pet is an immediate increase in responsibility. Just like a young child, pets rely on you for absolutely everything. Not only that, if they have yet to be trained, they won’t understand your anger if they do something wrong. If you’re someone with an over scheduled life, or doubt your children’s ability to step up to this responsibility, a small pet like a hamster or mouse might be a better first step. Another drawback for pets in the home is allergy, especially if you don’t know what you’re allergic to. Bringing a cat or a dog into your life can bring unexpected hurdles.

3.Do you think it is safe for animals to live in the cities?

Yes, and I believe most pet-keepers are highly aware of the potential risks for animals that live in cities. As I can see, when dog-keepers walk their dogs, they always hold a tight rein, preventing them from running amok. When it comes to larger dogs, who potentially threaten people’s safety, they are subjected to wearing a mouth cover. I appreciate such precautions because they’re acts to protect both the human and the animal. As for hygiene, city streets nowadays cannot be cleaner, so dogs have nowhere to scrounge and get infected.

4.How do you like taking care of animals?

I take care of my dog, Maggie, on a regular basis. Generally, I feed her twice a day, with high quality, high protein food. She has a bath every two to three weeks depending on how much she needs it. She has a skin-sensitive shampoo and a conditioner ¬¬– costly, but effective. She gets worm tablets, because when she had a flea infestation once, I spent a long time every day picking them out. I even moved house to a place where the lack of grass resulted in no more fleas. Maggie is well-trained, and she rarely barks at children for a snack’s sake.
