  范文:

1.Is it important to visit family members? Why?

Yes. Regular visits help to reassure our family members that they’re still wanted and just as important as prior to adulthood. We should visit them because we love them. Love is always the premise. When you love someone, you should express it to them. They’re not supposed to be left and forgotten. I know that the Internet has drawn us closer than before, but a convenient phone or video call cannot replace a real visit. And visiting family members, especially our parents and grand-parents, helps them stay in good emotional health.

2.Which do you prefer, support from friends or family members? Why?

I guess it depends. On the one hand, when making a decision that might change my life, I value the support of my family more, because they have better ideas about the risks and they will bear them with me. Their support at that moment should be very cautious. As for friends, my possible situation might concern them, but won’t get them involved, so they can give me support as much as I want. On the other hand, when it comes to professional choices, for example, further?education or a career, I would value the support from my peers or senior friends more.

3.What are the benefits of younger and older generations living together? How about drawbacks?

On the plus side, it helps to invigorate and energize older adults. The presence of young people definitely encourages them to keep the house clean and tidy. Doing such chores ensures a livable environment. Cohabitation also helps reduce the isolation of older adults to some degree, as there will be constant interactions with young people, stimulating their memory and brainwork. However, there are also drawbacks. The gap between the generations exists and invokes arguments. It blurs the lines between people of different ages when they live together, whereas we cannot ignore the fact that there are different lifestyles. It requires patience and compassion.

4.How many generations does each family have?

This could come down to an average calculation, or specific generational spans in certain families. So, it really depends. For example, you could have a family with very long generational gaps and maybe the most generations alive at any given time would be two or three. On the other hand, you can have a family with longevity or shorter spans between generations. In that case, three or four generations alive at any given time would be normal and maybe even 5. Five living generations is rare but it still occurs.I would say five is the biggest number in terms of living generations that you’re likely to encounter at some point in your life.
