1. If someone draws a picture of you, will you agree?
Yeah, I actually had a portrait sketch of myself, which was drawn by a street artist. I was travelling and went to this street market at the time. It was almost two and a half year ago. I was intrigued by all those amazing portrait paintings so I sat down and let the artist draw a picture of me. It was of course not those exquisite one cause it was done in a short times. There are few things wrong about it but I still like it a lot. It’s a different feeling than a digital photo like a selfie.
2. What kind of paintings do you like?
To be honest, I am not an expert in arts. I am constantly impressed by paintings with deep meanings. However, mostly, I just love pictures of landscape, seascape, animals, sky, any nature related subject matter, something that make me feel safe, happy and relaxed, the moment I look at it.
3. Is it important to hang pictures at home?
I think it is really a personal preference. As for me, I like to hang pictures at home. Although we live in a digital age, and thank goodness for that, I like to print out some my favorite pictures from computers and phones and put on the walls of my home, to make it a photo collage. I think it’s a great way to decorate my home and can always remind me of happy occasions in my life.
4. Have you learned painting or drawing?
I would say I haven’t really learned about painting or drawing. Although from primary to high school, I usually had one or two art lessons every week. Sometimes, teacher taught some basic techniques or provided us a subject matter, and we would practice drawing. Other times, we would discuss some famous paintings and the meanings behind them.
5. What do you know about paintings?
I have to say I don’t really know much of paintings. I know famous artists, like Pablo Picasso,Vincent van Gogh, and maybe their representative paintings, which I have learned in school.
Besides, I also was lucky enough to visit a few art museums before, like the National Gallery of Art in Washington. But then I don’t really know much about how to understand or produce art.
